This Privacy Policy describes how Veteran Asset Alliance (“we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our website or inquire about coaching and educational services. It is a starting policy and will be updated as our tools, hosting, and programs change.
1. Who we are
Veteran Asset Alliance is a private coaching and education practice. We are not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Use the inquiry form on this website to reach us.
2. Information we collect
We may collect:
- Inquiry information you send us — name, email, phone, branch of service, and the contents of your message.
- Engagement information if we later work together — notes from coaching conversations and records you choose to share.
- Technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and approximate location derived from IP. This may be collected by our hosting provider.
- Communications if you email us directly, including the address you use and the content of the thread.
We do not require Social Security numbers, full VA file numbers, or complete medical records to answer an initial inquiry. Please do not send sensitive medical or financial details in the website form.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Respond to inquiries and schedule conversations.
- Provide coaching and educational services you request.
- Operate, secure, and improve the website.
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms.
- Send service-related messages. We will not add you to a marketing list without a clear way to opt out, and we will not sell your information.
4. Legal bases (where applicable)
If a privacy law requires a legal basis, we rely on: your request to take steps before a contract (responding to an inquiry); performance of a coaching engagement; our legitimate interest in running a secure website; and compliance with legal obligations. Where consent is required, we will ask for it.
5. How we share information
We share information only as needed:
- Service providers who host the website, process email, or provide similar infrastructure, under obligations to protect it.
- Legal requests if we are required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the Services.
- Business transfer if we merge, reorganize, or sell assets, subject to this Policy or notice of changes.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own cross-context advertising.
We do not send your information to VA unless you ask us in writing to help you prepare something that you will submit. Even then, we do not file it for you.
6. Cookies and similar tools
The site may use strictly necessary cookies or similar storage to keep the site working (for example, load balancing or basic security). We do not currently run advertising pixels. If we add analytics later, this Policy will be updated to describe them and any choices you have.
7. Retention
Inquiry emails are kept as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable period afterward for follow-up and recordkeeping. If we enter a coaching engagement, we keep related notes for as long as the engagement lasts and as required for legal, tax, or dispute purposes, then delete or de-identify them when no longer needed.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect personal information. No website or email system is perfectly secure. Please use the contact form for general inquiries only, and wait for a more secure channel if we later ask for sensitive records.
9. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Your choices and rights
You may ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to opt out of non-essential messages, through the inquiry form on this website. Depending on where you live (including under Colorado privacy law, if it applies), you may have additional rights, such as to appeal a denial or designate an authorized agent. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.
We will need enough information to verify that the request is from you. We may deny a request when an exception applies (for example, we must keep a record for a legal dispute).
11. Do Not Track and global privacy controls
The site does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals. If we add advertising or cross-context tracking, we will honor applicable opt-out signals as required by law and update this Policy.
12. International visitors
The Services are intended for the United States. If you contact us from elsewhere, your information may be processed in the U.S.
13. Changes
We may update this Policy. The new version will be posted here with a revised “Last updated” date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice when required.
14. Contact
